More German Sources: Research, Defence and Development

More German Sources: Research, Defence and Development

We're continuing to deepen our German coverage with eight new sources, and this batch is a strong one.

We've added procurement portals from some of Germany's most important institutions. The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) — Germany's central research funding organisation — and KfW, one of the world's largest development banks, both now feed directly into Open Opportunities. If you're selling research equipment, consulting services, or development finance solutions, these are sources you won't find on many other platforms.

We've also added the Charité, Berlin's renowned university hospital and one of Europe's largest medical institutions, alongside the Universität der Künste Berlin (UdK), giving you visibility into healthcare and academic procurement in the capital.

On the defence and security side, we're now pulling tenders from BWI, the IT systems house of the German Armed Forces. BWI is one of Germany's largest IT service providers and the primary digitalisation partner of the Bundeswehr — a significant source for anyone in defence tech, cybersecurity or IT services.

Rounding out this update, we've added PD – Berater der öffentlichen Hand (the German government's in-house consultancy), the Aumass construction tendering platform, and the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg's e-procurement portal.

Germany is already one of our strongest markets for data coverage, and every new source we add makes it harder for opportunities to slip through the net. These eight sources join the 13 sub-national portals we added in January, continuing our push to make Open Opportunities the most comprehensive source of global procurement data available anywhere.
