This proposal is to construct 10 houses on the site. This density will allow the construction of semi-detached dwellings, mixture of 2 storey and single storey dwellings with private car parking and good pedestrian linkages to new roadside footpath. There will be useable shared green space to the front of the dwellings. The existing adjacent housing estate is mainly a mixture of 2 storey semi detached dwellings and some single storey dwellings.
The proposed houses will include 6 No two storey dwellings and 4 No bungalows with 4 of these bungalows to cater for special needs. All houses will front on to public spaces with secure private gardens to the rear of each dwelling. The houses will be located so as to provide passive surveillance over all shared spaces and link paths to roadside public path.
The form and materials of the proposed houses will be designed with a focus on accessibility, sustainability and ease of maintenance. We also want this scheme to raise the standard of housing and community spaces in the area. Landscaping and greening the development will be an integral part of the scheme. The houses will be designed with regard to the quality for Sustainable Community Guidelines & and “Buildings for Everyone: A Universal Design Approach” CEUD. The houses will be designed as robust homes which will be adaptable for long term use.
