Waterways Ireland, Monaghan County Council, Armagh Banbridge Craigavon Borough Council and East Border Region has secured INTERREG VA funding to deliver approximately 20km of greenway along the route of the Ulster Canal between Smithborough, County Monaghan and Middletown, County Armagh. A further 2km of greenway is proposed along the route of the N2 Monaghan Town Bypass. The greenway will tie-in to an existing 4km greenway constructed in 2013 in Monaghan Town.
This project is supported by the European Union’s INTERREG VA Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body.
Monaghan County Council (MCC) has taken on the role of the Client for this cross-jurisdictional project, and is responsible for the design and implementation of the project. MCC seeks tenders from experienced Environmental Consultants to carry out an Ecological Impact Assessment on a proposed Greenway from Smithborough, Co. Monaghan to Middletown, County Armagh.
Monaghan County Council invites tenders from experienced Environmental Consultants to undertake;
1. Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA)
2. Appropriate Assessment Screening Report and
3. Environmental Impact Assessment Screening Report
for Phase 2 of the Ulster Canal Greenway, which extends some 22km between Smithborough, Co. Monaghan and Middletown, Co. Armagh.
The Contract shall be awarded to the Most Economically Advantageous Tender meeting the minimum eligibility criteria.
