The Cork Institute of Technology Disability Support Service invites tenders for the
provision of Stereotype communication &/or Electronic note taking services for the
Institute’s students who are deemed in need of such services.
DSS Students requiring Stereotype communication / Electronic notetaking
The CIT Disability Support Service (DSS) is located in the Access Service in the
Student Centre in CIT, Bishopstown. The DSS currently has approximately 650
registered full and part time students with a range of learning difficulties, health
conditions and disabilities. Website: www.cit.ie/disability. Many DSS students
receive funding from the Fund for Students with Disabilities which is funded by the
Irish Government and co-funded from the ESF Programme for Employability,
Inclusion and Learning (PEIL) 2014-2020.
A number of CIT DSS students require stereotype communication or electronic
notetaking services – these are largely students with hearing, visual, or physical
impairments. Access to these services are determined through a needs
assessment meeting with the student and the DSS staff and then arranged by the
DSS with the provider in consultation with the student.
