This framework contract will primarily include the delivery of the earlier schemes in the managed motorways programme. The objective of this programme is to enhance capacity and reliability on the motorway network by installing,,testing and commissioning hard shoulder running schemes and other improvements to junctions and adjacent major trunk roads across England. The intention is to use this framework to provide resource for managed motorway schemes and associated works e.g. link roads, which may be needed to provide continuity on the network. . The delivery partners will be expected to work with each other and with other organisations contracted to the Highways Agency to deliver the requirements of the managed motorways programme. This role will include liaison with designers and the provision of advice on buildability, planning, interface management and aggregated procurement at the pre construction stage. The delivery partners will also construct, integrate and commission the managed motorways schemes, in collaboration with other organisations engaged in carrying out design, construction and supply, to ensure successful delivery of programme level objectives. The delivery partners will also be expected to work closely with the Managed Motorways delivery office. The delivery partners will also be appointed to fulfil the duties of Principal Contractor and CDM Co-ordinator under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007.
