P228 - Server Virtualisation Project
The Trust is based on the Royal United Hospital (RUH) which occupies one site on the north-western edge of the city of Bath. It provides general acute hospital services for a population of 450,000-500,000.
Proposed details are: -
The RUH is looking to invest in a virtualised environment infrastructure to support age-replacement and migration of existing servers, and to meet future requirements. This system will be a key component of our Business Continuity Plan so resilience is important.
The implementation system will be based over a series of phases. This requirement relates only to the first phase of the project, additional phases will be tendered at a later date to expand the infrastructure to suit our changing requirements.
Phase 1 ? Training for 2 x system administrators, software install and configuration on basic, but expandable hardware
We envisage the final system providing full failover between two separate locations on the same site.
