P228 - Server Virtualisation Project

The Trust is based on the Royal United Hospital (RUH) which occupies one site on the north-western edge of the city of Bath. It provides general acute hospital services for a population of 450,000-500,000.

Proposed details are: -

The RUH is looking to invest in a virtualised environment infrastructure to support age-replacement and migration of existing servers, and to meet future requirements. This system will be a key component of our Business Continuity Plan so resilience is important.

The implementation system will be based over a series of phases. This requirement relates only to the first phase of the project, additional phases will be tendered at a later date to expand the infrastructure to suit our changing requirements.

Phase 1 ? Training for 2 x system administrators, software install and configuration on basic, but expandable hardware

We envisage the final system providing full failover between two separate locations on the same site.

Full details of our requirement will be provided within the invitation to tender document specification.
