The Royal United Hospital, Bath is a 650 bed district general hospital serving a population
of 500,000. It is based on a 53 acre site in the Combe Park area of Bath. The Estate is
made up of 64 separate blocks that range in age from the 1700’s up to the present date.

The Trust has a requirement for works in relation to the provision of a replacement 1500kVA West Generator and associated generator control systems. The supply of the generator is being tendered under a separate tender, reference P 442.

Contractors are invited to tender for works as a whole or in part as follows:

Standard works
1. a) Additional ring main unit [Sub 5 RMU B] , 1000kVA transformer [T5B] and new main LV panel [T5A/1 + T5B/1] at Substation 5,
b) New West Generator distribution panel
c) Dual low voltage supplies to serve the site’s new Pathology Building.

2. In addition to the above, separate ‘optional’ works associated with existing Sub 5 West main LV panel are required:

a) ‘Swap-over’ of outgoing circuits from the existing Sub 5 West main LV panel to the new additional main LV panel;

Upon completion of outgoing circuits ‘swap-over’ , removal of the existing Sub 5 West main LV panel
