Call for entries from companies interested to undertake a study which aims to understand and assess how coastal effects are accounted for in wind resource assessments and provide recommendations for the next steps to improve this approach.
The main objectives of this work are to:
Investigate how and to what extent wind speed modelling should be adjusted to take coastal effects into account for near-shore developments.
Use a literature review to identify knowledge gaps and suggest research requirements that will support the eventual development of industry guidelines which describe how to consider coastal effects in wind resource assessments.
