The Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) is an executive agency within the Department of the Environment. It is responsible through its Built Heritage Directorate for the protection and conservation of 190 archaeological sites and monuments in State Care in Northern Ireland, under the Historic Monuments and Archaeological Objects (NI) Order 1995. These monuments range from prehistoric stone tombs, many thousands of years old, to masonry structures such as churches or castles which may be many hundreds of years old.
NIEA Natural Heritage requires a suitably competent Contractor to remove graffiti off historic stone, masonry or brickwork monuments throughout Northern Ireland by utilising appropriate techniques in order to prevent damage to the historic fabric of these monuments. Removal of graffiti may also occasionally be required from additional modern site infrastructure, for example walls, fences, steps or signs at these sites.
