Invitation to Tender for the Provision of a New Pneumatic Tube Installation
at the Royal United Hospital Bath NHS Trust
The Royal United Hospital Bath NHS Trust provides general acute and emergency care for a population of around 400,000 in Bath and the surrounding towns and villages of North East Somerset and Western Wiltshire.
The Trust occupies a 52 acre site about one and a half miles from Bath city centre and became a National Health Service Trust in 1992. The Trust provides 560 beds and a comprehensive range of acute services.
The Trust has a requirement for the supply, installation and commissioning of a fully intercommunicating pneumatic tube transport system, to serve between the A&E department and the new Pathology and Mortuary Building
The tube system will play a vital roll in delivering samples from A&E to the Pathology laboratory in a timely manner. Failure of the system puts enormous pressure on our A&E four hour target. The installation will be run through some of the busiest areas of the hospital, which are operational 24/7, therefore considered planning and methodology will be essential.
