Invest NI and Belfast City Council have been working closely with both the West Belfast and Greater Shankill Partnership Boards to identify the key priorities needed to increase entrepreneurship, encourage start up activity and support economic activity in key areas such as Neighbourhood Renewal, Youth and Social Enterprise.
As a result of these workshops, the stakeholders were asked to develop/outline proposals that would help address the issues highlighted above. Collectively the stakeholders feel that they not only lack the necessary resources to do this, but they also lack the necessary technical expertise to develop robust proposals that may attract funding from a variety of sources.
The Partnership Boards therefore require assistance to scope out proposed economic development projects. This technical support will help the Partnership Boards identify potential funding sources and prepare robust business cases to apply for funding where appropriate.
This support will help the Partnership Boards apply for funding under a range of sources which in turn will help bring forward both revenue and capital projects that will help drive economic development in their areas.
