This is a requirement for the Translink Group.
The Purchasing Department is part of the Finance Division. The Department performs a central core purchasing and a purchase ledger (invoice processing) function for the Translink Group. The terms “Translink”, “Translink Group” and “Group” are deemed to be interchangeable in the documents relating to this procurement and for the avoidance of doubt each means the Northern Ireland Transport Holding Company and all of its subsidiary companies including Citybus Limited, Flexibus Limited, NIR Travel Limited, Northern Ireland Railways Company Limited, Travel NI Limited, Translink NI Limited, and Ulsterbus Limited.
Translink carries out engineering maintenance of its fleet (Bus and Rail) at a number of sites throughout Northern Ireland. The company operates wide range equipment for such tasks and wishes to appoint suitable contractors to carry out the maintenance of these items of equipment and also to provide a breakdown repair service, including out of hours calls as and when required.
As part of the conditions of Tender Tenderers MUST provide, either directly or through its supply chain, a minimum of 3 and maximum of 12 Person Weeks of work experience or employment opportunities for an Unemployed Person(s), per 12-month contract period, to be arranged through an appropriate Northern Ireland Department for Employment and Learning (DEL) [or jurisdictional equivalent] supported programme.
