Description:
Tender Ref HR7299 - Supply of BL Branded Carrier Bags.

The British Library is the UK’s national library and holds one of largest collections of printed material in the world containing over 150 million items and featuring almost every known language.

Our flagship St Pancras site includes 11 public reading rooms with over 1,200 seats. The British Library issues clear plastic bags to all readers and visitors using our reading rooms. The bags are used for storage of any personal items (laptop, note-pad etc.) that reading room users wish to take with them into the reading room areas.

The British Library currently uses 160,000 bags per year. It is envisaged this contract will be a ‘call-off’ contract whereby the supplier stores carrier bags until a request for delivery is made. It is anticipated that each call-off will be for 40,000 bags resulting in 4 deliveries per year.

The successful tenderer will be expected to hold a buffer stock of circa 35,000 bags, as deliveries may occasionally be required at short notice.

Full information on our requirements can be found in the tender documents.
