South Staffordshire is a rural district covering an area
of 101 000 acres on the north-western edge of the
West Midlands conurbation. Despite having a
population of over 106 000, there are no towns in the
district, but a number of villages with populations over
12 000.

The Council collects approximately 12 500 tonnes of
Green Waste per annum from residents. The council
requires a contractor to make provision for a suitable
facility to receive green waste. The material shall be
then processed or recycled in a manner that can be
demonstrated to have environmental and sustainable
benefit over and above disposal to landfill.
