The provision of BBC set & prop storage with transportation to/from BBC locations or studios and back to storage.
Bidders must have experience of storing and transporting film, television & theatre sets and be able to transport the sets/props from storage to the required location with a minimum 24 hour notice period and return the sets & props back to storage at an agreed time and date.
Bidders must be able to provide storage facilities that are safe, clean, dry, secure, discreet, and well maintained at a competitive rate.
Bidders must be able to demonstrate a robust inventory / reporting method and use vehicles that meet the required omission levels. Bidders must be in possession of appropriate waste licences to dispose of sets/props in a legal and environmental manner.
Bidders must be able to provide appropriate vehicles for transportation based on the requirements of the individual BBC in-house production team.
Bidders must have a valid goods vehicle operator’s license for the specific region of Great Britain relating to the BBC sites tendering for.
Bidders must be able to supply drivers whose drivers licence entitled them to drive category C and above medium sized and large vehicles with trailers.
Any member of staff loading / unloading goods from a vehicle must have completed a manual handling course.
In the event that more than the above maximum number of operators can comply with the BBC requirements, preference will be given to those bidders who can demonstrate they have experience and an understanding and track record of storing and transporting film, television and theatre sets and props.
Bidders will be required to evidence or commit to apply for either a Waste Broker Licence or Waste Carrier Licence for the safe disposal of unwanted sets and props.
Out of scope of this tender will be suppliers who are contracted to build sets on behalf of the BBC, confidential material and currency.
