The Sub-Contract Works Package (SCWP)comprises the supply of supervision, labour, plant and materials to carry out the Groundworks, Drainage and External Works (Ref WP001/KING STREET PH2) all as described in the accompanying tender documents. The SCWP will be awarded as a fixed price ( for the duration of the Main Contract Works, LUMP SUM sub-contract NOT remeasurable. Estimated start date 4th May 2016. Main Contract construction period - Estimated at 36 calendar weeks. SCWP - Multiple visits required. The site is located at King Street to the west of the town centre of Cowdenbeath. Access to the site for delivery and egress for materials, plant and labour etc will be via Stenhouse Street (avoiding the High Street if possible), Rowan Terrace and then onto King Street.The proposed site compound will be on the north side of King Street adjacent to Plot 8 as shown on the Principal Contractor's site compound/traffic management plan.It should be noted that this is a matureley developed residential area and severe restrictions on vehicle movements will be in place. No parking will be permitted in surrounding streets. A site specific traffic protocol covering delivery times etc will be compiled by the Principal Contractor's site management team for issue to Sub-Contractor's at the Pre-Award Meeting.Notwithstanding which, all tenderers will have deemed to have familiarised themselves with the nature of the surrounding land use and have included in their tender for all costs reasonably associated with ensuring the Health and Safety of the public. Tenderers are encouraged to visit the site to fully acquaint themselves with the nature and condition of the site and its surrounds, including access routes, existing above ground services and such like. All visits should be cleared in advance with the Principal Contractor via Fife Council’s Surveyor named in this document under Section 1. No claims for additional costs as a result of a lack of knowledge of the site and its surrounds will be accepted by Fife Council.
