The scope of the contract includes provision of a media and communications professional to manage media relations and communications for the Garda Ombudsman.
The service is required on a part-time basis. The estimated weekly hours is 20-30 hours depending on the needs of the Garda Ombudsman Commission.
The Garda Ombudsman operates a 24/7 on call press office as GSOC deals with critical incidents such as deaths in Garda custody or fatal road traffic incidents, which can happen at any time. As part of this contract the service provider will be required to act as the on call Press Officer, which involves holding the GSOC press office mobile phone and answering all calls immediately. The exact days on call will be agreed at contract stage but will include evenings and weekends
