This project concerns the replacment of 4 No. existing 24 person electric traction passenger lifts with 4 No. new conventional electric traction lifts to be installed in the existing lift locations at University Hospital Limerick. The successful applicant shall be responsible for the detailed design of the new lift installations along with the supply, delivery, management and execution of all lift installation related works including removal of existing lift equipment, lift installation and commissioning works, builders works, electrical services works and health and safety services (PSCS role) etc. See tender documentation including performance requirements etc for more detailed information on the works and services required. It will be necessary to maintain at least two of the lifts in operation at any one time (i.e. one of the surgical block lifts and one of the medical block lifts) and so the successful applicant will be required to deliver the project on a phased basis.
There are four existing lifts to be replaced two which serve the surgical block and two serving the medical block. The locations of the existing lift installations being replaced date back to original 1950’s masonry construction. There is an individual shaft per lift with approximate dimensions of 2.9 metres x 2 metres.Each of the 4 no. Lifts serve 4 floors, namely Ground, First, Second and Third floors of the main inpatient hospital block. The Lifts were upgraded in the early 1990’s.Each lift’s motor room is a shared lift motor room incorporating control gear for 2 no. lifts. The height of the lift motor rooms is circa 2.0 metres.The depth of the lift pit for each lift is circa 1.15m from FFL at ground floor, to base of pit. Lift No. 1 and Lift No. 2 operate as a duplex pair. Lift No. 3 and Lift No. 4 operate as a duplex pair.Current lifts are rope operated, electric motor driven lifts.
